Qualification for The British Championships: The submitted run and swim times for athletes entered into the Crystal Palace and Leeds competitions (both cancelled due to adverse weather conditions) have been used to create two 'virtual' competitions from which the top 6 individuals and top team will qualify by right to the British Championships. The results from the two competitions that went ahead (Bath and Macclesfield) are on the website and again, the top 6 individuals and top team will qualify by right. Entries will be online and will open on 10th February 2012. A ranking list is now in the process of being produced (to be published by 9th February) and the remaining team places will be allocated from the Team Rankings list to make up the total number of teams in each Class to: Seven teams in Year 5, Year 6, Year 7 & Year 8. Five teams in Year 9. Four teams in Year 10, Year 11 & Year 12/13. The remaining places for British Championships will be allocated from the individual ranking list to make up the total number of athletes in each Class to: 72 athletes in Year 5, Year 6, Year 7 & Year 8. 56 athletes in Year 9. 40 athletes in Year 10, Year 11 & Year 12/13. 8 teachers. In all competitions, the three top scoring individuals from a School in a class will count as a team. This means that if the School has more than three qualifying individuals in a class, the team members may change from the previous qualifying round. If a qualified individual or team is not able to enter the British Championships for whatever reason, the next ranked individual or team may be invited to participate in their place. Download Team Entry Form.This competition is open to Youth D, Youth C, Youth B, Youth A, Junior and Senior (Open) athletes provided that level 1 or level 2 fencing certficates are lodged at HQ prior to the competition. Youth E competitors may compete up one year as Youth D. There is a tetrathlon option without fence, but competitors compete for training purposes only and will not be placed for awards. Discipline medals apply to all competitors and will be awarded (if applicable) to those not fencing.
