Pentathlon GB - World Cup 2010

Pentathlon GB is delighted that the World Cup event in Great Britain is hosted by Medway Council. Medway has made a large investment in upgrading the facilities at Medway Park where all five disciplines of the Modern Pentathlon can be completed on a single site. More information about the facilities and information for spectators can be found at the offical spectator website run by Medway Council.

We extend warm thanks to the staff of Medway Council and Pentathlon GB for their considerable contribution to the success of the event and to the many volunteers who have given up many hours of their free time to make the occasion possible.

We are also grateful for the ongoing support (originating from the FTSE 100 – BOA initiative) provided to us by Marks & Spencer.

In addition to the World Cup event we are also running a schools biathlon competition to encourage participation in multisport. We wish those competitors every success and hope that by competing alongside world class athletes they will be inspired to greater things.

Most importantly, we welcome the World Cup athletes to what we hope will be a highly enjoyable competition in the best traditions of Modern Pentathlon.

This site will be updated in the lead up to the competition so please check back for the latest information. Results and images will be posted as the competition unfolds.

Anthony Temple
Chairman Pentathlon GB

We are delighted to be working with Pentathlon GB and the UIPM to bring the Modern Pentathlon World Cup competition to Medway in April 2010. Medway , the jewel in the crown of the Thames Gateway, has both an impressive history and an exciting future. The historic establishments of the Royal School of Military Engineering and The Historic Dockyard, Chatham, and the heritage of Rochester Castle and Cathedral provide a contrast to the renaissance which is seeing Medway transformed into a future city with thousands of new homes, a new city centre complete with theatres, hotels and conference centre and a new centre of sporting excellence.

We believe the new Medway Park centre will provide an excellent venue for the World Cup event. We also know that hosting this global event in Medway will bring the sport of modern pentathlon to a new and hugely enthusiastic audience.

We look forward to extended a very warm welcome to global pentathlon community in April, and good luck to all of the participating teams.
