2016 Review: moments of the year
It's been another great year both in and out of competition. So, in the run up to Christmas, we're going to be a remembering a top moment from each 2016 month, starting on December 13th and finishing on Christmas Eve!
It was a perfect start to the year as Kate French took gold and Jo Muir bronze at the first international of the season in Hungary!
February - New CEO starts
Our new CEO Danielle Every enjoyed her first day with PGB as treasurer and interim boss Ian Price handed over the reins!
March - GB Youth International Gold
It was a strong start to the season for our Youth team as Myles Pillage won the GB Youth International on home soil!
April - World Cup 4 Victory
The start of a golden run to World Number 1 for Jamie Cooke as he won World Cup #4 in Kecskemet! Jamie followed this up with victory at the World Cup Final and 9th at the World Championships in May.
There was a silver lining in Moscow as Jo Muir and Sam Murray came 2nd in the Women's Relay!
The British Modern Pentathlon Championships saw Jess Varley and Paul Hodgson become the new National Champions!
The final day of the major 2016 Youth A championships saw a double medal haul in Sant Boi as Harry Sykes and Josh Miller won gold in the boys' relay with Kerenza Bryson and Myles Pillage taking bronze in the mixed relay!
It was a delight to hold such a successful Youth B European Championships in Great Britain over the bank holiday weekend with 11 different nations enjoying medal success!
September - First Laser-Run Held
The first ever UK based Laser-Run - the latest addition to our portfolio of sports - was held at our academy Millfield School! Keep your eyes out for more in 2017!
October - Biathle & Triathle World Champs success
It was an amazing Biathle & Triathle World Championships for our athletes as they claimed 23 medals in Sarasota!
November - WMPCC inspires again
Iwas another inspirational weekend in Manchester as we hosted the World Modern Pentathlon Coaches Conference again. And, it was the biggest yet!
December - Board changes at the AGM
We welcomed 2 new members to our board as some long serving members stepped down at our AGM
