SCHOOLS BIATHLON - RULES 2008-09
The Rules for the 2008-09 Schools competitions are now available as a download in Word or PDF format. IMPORTANT NOTE: The date for the SW Qualifier should be the 9th November and NOT 8th November as originally published. If you have downloaded a copy of the rules please either modify your copy or download a new version. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Please note that there are some significant changes to the rules for the 2008-09 season. The most significant of these are that
- All competitions will be regionally based, schools will have to enter their nominated competition based on school location.
- The points system has been brought more into line with the rules for other Biathlon competitions run by PentathlonGB.
- All running events of competitions held in England will be held on track. Adjustments to times will be made to take account of different length pools for the purpose of a ranking list.
- Those individuals that are unable to attend their nominated qualifying competition will have to apply for a bye but may be offered the chance to compete in another qualifying competition.
- A British ranking list will be produced following completion of all the qualifying competitions.
- Qualification
- Regional champions only (individuals and teams) will qualify as of right.
- Remaining individual qualification places will be based on the ranking list.
- The number of places for each age group will be weighted according to the aggregate level of entries for each age group in the qualifying competitions.
