A small but determined group of athletes competed at the International Biathle and Triathle Meeting in Machico, Madeira on the 10th and 11th of May 2025.
Representing a range of age groups and classifications, the athletes competed with spirit, determination, and camaraderie across a competitive weekend of racing despite facing challenging island weather with thunderstorms, rain and wind!
The competing athletes included:

Caiden Griffin (Under 15)
Will Reed (Under 17)
Rebecca Batchelor (Under 17)
Rachel Massey (Para Classification)
Neil Dewar (Para Classification)
The event brought together athletes from several countries to the Machico coastline with the course composing of challenging swim, run, and shoot elements. Testing both their physical and mental resilience, the athletes rose to the occasion with impressive performances throughout. Several athletes secured podium finishes and brought home well-earned medals.
Medal tally:
Biathle – 3 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze
Triathle – 5 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze
We are delighted that this group of athletes took the opportunity to travel and gain valuable competition experience. PGB look forward to competing in Madeira again next year at the Biathle, Triathle and Laser Run World Championships which are due to take place in Funchal in October 2026.
