Cyril Marshall.

Pentathlon GB have truly lost a beloved and dedicated volunteers in our community last week due to the passing of Cyril Marshall.

Cyril was 83 and still was helping the local Pony Club/ Pentathlon members with their shooting. He was a huge part of Yorkshire Pentathlon Club, both shoot coaching and an ever present member of the committee.

Cyril had the role as shoot director at 2012 Olympics and all the lead-up events to it. He was instrumental with a range of evolutions within our sport; including the changes through the drop down targets, the start of the combined laser-run event and then into the further evolution to laser shooting. He helped so many athletes throughout their journey in our sport, assisting numerous members from their Pentathlon start, through to the Talent Pathway and onto the group at the National Training Centre in Bath.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Ann, and his family at this very difficult time. He was the kindest soul and will be dearly missed by all in the pentathlon community.

Give Pentathlon GB A Try.
