Emma Whitaker took a brilliant silver medal at the European Pentathlon Championships in Madrid.
After a strong finals day performance, Whitaker took 2nd place in Europe after placing in the top 11 across all disciplines, including a 2nd fastest laser run and 5th fastest swim.
In Semi-Final B, Charlie Follett finished 13th, with top 10 in OCR and top 15 across all disciplines. In Semi-Final A, Natalie Hatfield placed 12th, with a 6th place swim and 3rd in laser run, while Olivia Green finished 14th, with a 4th place swim and 10th in laser run.
Together, Emma, Natalie, and Charlie secured 5th place in the women’s team standings, rounding off a successful competition for the squad.
Charlie Brown and James Hulme made the European Final in the Spanish Capital. Brown finished 12th overall with top 10 placings in the fencing, swimming and laser run. Hulme secured 16th place, with the 2nd fastest OCR time in the final.
Ross Charlton placed 16th in Semi-Final A, including a 6th place finish in the laser run. Sam Cobb came 20th in Qualification A, with a 10th place laser run.
Charlie, James, and Ross’ performances combined to earn a 5th place in the men’s team standings.
Next up is a training camp at home in Bath, ahead of the World Championships in Kaunas, Lithuania in late August.
