Athletes from across the Pentathlon GB performance and pathway programme delivered a series of determined performances at this weekend’s competition in the Hungarian capital, with top 10 finishes recorded in both the senior and U17 categories.
In the Men’s field, Sebastian Forrest secured a top 10 finish, placing 10th after a strong showing throughout the competition week. Ross Charlton followed in 21st in the Men’s ‘A’ Final after his win in the GB Rankings series earlier this winter. In the ‘B’ Final, Reuben Cawley claimed 11th, adding valuable race experience to his upcoming competition season.
The Women’s competition saw Chloe Johnson lead the way with an impressive 8th place, closely followed by Eva Marsh in 16th and Poppy Clark in 21st. In the B Final, Natalie Hatfield delivered a strong performance to finish 5th, with Mim Gray taking 12th.
Gina Speakman and Sam Cobb gained important competition exposure through the qualification rounds in Budapest against one of the most hotly contested international fields of the season.
There was further success in the U17 category, where Kruze Frampton produced a superb performance to claim a bronze medal, backed up by Lucas Heath, who finished 14th. In the girls’ event, both Jemima Chetwood and Ava Chappell secured top eight finishes, with Jemima placing 5th and Ava 8th.
