Pentathlon GB is deeply saddened to learn of the closure of Leweston School.
Our thoughts are with all pupils, staff, families and the wider Leweston community at what is an incredibly difficult and uncertain time.
Leweston has been an important part of the pentathlon community for many years. As the home of the Leweston Pentathlon Academy, the school has played a significant role in the development of our sport, providing opportunities for athletes of all ages and abilities to train, compete and develop. A number of our athletes have also attended the school, making this news particularly difficult for many within our community.
We recognise this is a difficult time for everyone affected and are looking at how we can best offer our support.
The closure also brings uncertainty for those involved in the Leweston Pentathlon Academy and the wider pentathlon activities associated with the school. We will work closely with those affected to understand what this means for future activities and help ensure opportunities within the sport can continue wherever possible.
We will share further updates with the pentathlon community as soon as more information becomes available.
We extend our heartfelt support to everyone connected with Leweston School.
