The GB Team delivered strong performances in Bulgaria, showcasing their talent and determination.
Emma Whitaker continued her strong start to 2025 securing an impressive 1st place in her semi-final, which earned her a spot in the final. Whitaker went on to achieve a fantastic 5th place finish, achieving top 10 rankings across all disciplines in the final including the 6th fastest swim time and 7th fastest laser run on the day.
Charlie Brown mirrored this success with impressive performances in both the qualifications and semi-final. Brown achieved a great placing of joint top points scored in his semi-final leading into Sunday’s finals day. This form continued into the final with a 5th highest OCR time and a 6th place fencing ranking leading to his top 7 finish in hot conditions.
Sam Cobb, Natalie Hatfield, and Charlie Follett continued their solid season opening performances into the evolving pentathlon format. Cobb delivered a strong showing in his qualification, gaining top 7 rankings in his fence and OCR in his qualification, but narrowly missed out on the semi-final. Follett secured a top 8 tanking in the laser run across her qualification heat, with Hatfield achieving similar with top 8 rankings in the swim and laser run disciplines in her qualification round.
Looking ahead, the team heads into a training block in preparation for the next stage of the competition season later this year.
