Laser Run in the Spotlight as The Duke of Sussex Takes on the Challenge

Laser Run was recently in the spotlight as Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, took on the challenge during the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 One Year to Go event at the NEC Birmingham.

While the event marked the countdown to the Games, it also provided a fantastic opportunity to showcase one of Modern Pentathlon’s most exciting and accessible disciplines to a wider audience.

Laser Run is the final and deciding discipline of Modern Pentathlon, combining running and laser pistol shooting in a fast-paced test of endurance, accuracy and composure. Athletes alternate between running and shooting, aiming to hit five targets before returning to the course, creating a unique challenge where speed and precision go hand in hand.

Since its introduction in 2009, Laser Run has grown beyond its roots in Modern Pentathlon to become a sport in its own right. Safe, inclusive and fun, it welcomes participants of all abilities, with opportunities for everyone from children aged five through to adults aged 70 and over.

Whether you’re looking to improve your fitness, take on a challenge or experience a sport unlike any other, Laser Run offers a rewarding way to get active and develop new skills.

Prince Harry’s participation has helped showcase Laser Run, introducing the discipline to new audiences and inspiring more people to discover the sport through Pentathlon GB.
