A weekend of growth, teamwork and international competition highlights the strength and future of the Pentathlon GB pathway.
A large and enthusiastic squad of over 30 athletes from Pentathlon GB travelled to Barcelona to compete at the 2026 European Cup for Junior, U19, U17 and U15 categories – marking the biggest group of Pentathlon GB athletes to compete at the European Cup international Modern Pentathlon event.
Representing a wide range of age groups, the team embraced the opportunity with excitement and determination. For many athletes, this was their first experience competing abroad, making the event especially valuable as they gained confidence, independence, and international racing experience.
Standout performances included:
-
Izzy Kettle (Under 15) – Bronze medal
-
Jemima Chetwood (Under 17 Girls) – Gold medal
-
Freddie Barlow (Junior Men) – Silver medal
These podium finishes highlight the strength and potential within the Pentathlon GB squad, but equally important was the commitment shown by every athlete who took part.
While medals are always a fantastic achievement, this trip was equally about celebrating participation, development, and the courage to step onto an international stage. Every athlete contributed to the success of Pentathlon GB simply by being part of such a memorable experience.
Pentathlon GB is incredibly proud of all those who competed and looks forward to building on this momentum in future European and international competitions.
